Industrial Sewing Machine Operator

Location: 4726 High Point Dr, Gibsonia, PA 15044  |  In Person  |  Business Operations (Production) Department

Summary:

Abram’s Nation has an opening for an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator responsible for sewing products for special needs families (wheelchair capes, sensory products, and accessories for The Safety Sleeper® enclosed bed). We are looking for a well organized and attentive sewing machine operator to construct these pieces.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Adhering to existing patterns.
• Cutting, sewing, and gluing fabric according to the requirements of each article.
• Sewing
• Operating the foot pedal, plus the stitch length and width regulators, as you sew.
• Replacing the sewing machine’s needle, as required.
• Detecting and repairing basic faults with the sewing machine as they occur.
• Scheduling repairs for the sewing machine and its fittings, as needed.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet daily quotas and production targets while maintaining the highest level of quality.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe working environment.
• Reports to the Production Manager

Education & Training:

High School Diploma / GED

Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in sewing, preferably in a manufacturing or textile environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Awareness of sewing procedures.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate understanding.
• Values quality craftsmanship.
• Netsuite also a plus.

Working Conditions:

Work Environment:
Employees working in the production area may be exposed to machinery and tools with moving parts. Position frequently requires employees to access storage and shelving units by stretching, squatting, bending, and reaching and the lifting of up to 35 pounds daily. This position may also require the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

M-F 6am-2:30p, M-F 8am-4:30pm or M-R 6am-4:30pm

Salary:
Non-Exempt $16.00-18.00 p/h
